Euro zone investor morale registers unexpected and strong rise in February
The Eurozone investor morale rose strongly in February and hit the highest since July 2025, Sentix survey showed on Monday.
The index jumped unexpectedly to 4.2 points in February, compared to a 1.8 point drop in January the month before, and strongly beating -0.2 forecast.
Economists expressed optimism after the upbeat February numbers generated an initial signal that recovery cycle starts after the recession has come to an end.
Other components of the report also showed significant improvement, with expectations rising to 15.8 in February from 10.0 in January, while current situation index rose from -13.0 in January to -6.8 in February.
Strong rise in investor morale in Germany, bloc’s largest economy (-6.9 current from -16.4 previous month) also signals that German economy may be at the end on of negative phase and contributes to brightening Eurozone economic outlook.
