Eurozone investor morale surges in January on growing vaccine optimism
Growing confidence about successful vaccination strategy to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic strongly boosted investor morale in the euro zone.
Investor morale rose more than expected in January, hitting the highest level in nearly one year, reaching 1.3 in January from -2.7 in December and heavily beating forecast for 0.7 rise.
In a statement, Sentix said the overall index reading was surprising given the extensive restrictions on economic activity, but since more vaccines have been approved, investors expect a quick implementation of the vaccination and thus a definitive end of economic and personal freedom restrictions that could lead towards faster economic recovery.
